To set up a custom Action, follow these steps:
1 - Open Actions Setup | ![]() |
| 2 - Add a New Action by either clicking on the New icon, pressing CTRL+N, or right-clicking in the selection tree and choosing the appropriate option. | ![]() |
| 3 - Enter the Details for the new Action. Name - Internal Name. This should be unique and contain no spaces or special characters. Display Name - This is the name shown in the Actions menu and displayed on reports. Applies to - For most cases, this should be set to 'Student'. Captions Fields: Track - Use this for character/string values Date - Use this for date values Numeric - Use this for numeric values (up to 2 decimal places) Currency - Use this currency values | ![]() |
| 4 - Enter Track Values. Click the Track Values tab and all tracks with a caption will display as an option. | ![]() ![]() |
| 5 - Select the track and then press the New icon to add choices. Use "*" to allow freeform text in addition to the value list. | ![]() ![]() |
| 6 - Click the Save icon and close the setup screen when done. Close and re-open the Student and/or Staff form to see/add the new Action. |
